Getting To Know You

Just a few things I loved about the first week of school...
- For show & tell all the kids decided to bring their favorite stuffed animal (Faye brought three),
- Some kids would rather help take the picture instead of being in them,
- The kids all think washable paint smells weird,
- Glitter goes a loooong way,
- And most of all, all the giggles, smiles, and hugs!

Welcome 2 Preschool

Treats for my little sweeties. 

Class starts this Tuesday.
I still have a couple of open spots.
Lots of fun things planned like a field trip to the fire station and one to a kids dentist office.  It's going to be a great year.

If you missed the social last night you can still come over Monday and check things out.

Remember tuition will be 1/2 price for August due to the late start of the month.  That amount would be $37.50.

The Perks of Being Two!
Every Wednesday your mom could have a whole hour and 20 minutes to herself while you come over to Miss Amberly's house to play with your friends!  How cool would that be?  So cool!

Just think of all the fun things we could to do....

march in a pet parade

10 little fingers

learn ABC's

bubbles

I spy games

balls

or play outside

and have a snack

And then go home and take a nap.  It doesn't get any better than that.

World of Learning

At My World of Learning I follow the curriculum from Successful Homeschooling for Preschoolers.  For early childhood education, home is the best learning environment for preschoolers and that is what I provide.  Preschoolers are little sponges who thirst for information, and many subjects can be taught during the course of daily life.  I'll do activities in reading, math, writing, science, art, physical education, and music.  Here’s a quick overview of the skills I’ll be teaching.

Reading
Each week we’ll discover a different children’s book and do art, science, and/or music relating to the book.  Exploring the world of children’s books will help prepare your child for reading.  We’ll also do questions/answers, identify objects, retelling of the story, and discover new words and sounds from each book. 

Math

I will be teaching your child the language of math by using words like:
·         Big/little, heavy/light, long/short, add/subtract, more/less, near/far, empty/full, same/different, and first/next/last.
We’ll be using shapes, colors, and numbers.

Writing

Of course we’ll begin with the writing of your child’s name and then go through each letter of the alphabet.  There are many fun ways to learn writing skills at an early age by writing in sand, shaving cream, pudding, or rice.


Science
Because preschoolers are naturally curious, there are many ways to teach preschool science in everyday life. When I’m teaching your child, we'll cover topics like bugs, animals, animal habitats, seasons, weather, space, and the human body.

Art

What child doesn’t like art?  Art is a big part of preschool learning and we’ll be doing a lot of it!  Art is the fun part that can tie together reading, math, and science.


Physical Education
If I had one tenth of the energy preschoolers have, I could conquer the world!
Having children move in fun ways releases energy and builds muscle strength, coordination, and flexibility.  Children need free play outdoors to run, play, and use their imagination.

Music

Singing and dancing is a great way to enjoy music with children.  My kids love it when I sing with them, no matter how bad I might sound.
We’ll open each class with the greeting song, weather song, days of the week song, and others.  Singing is a fun way to learn and memorize all kinds of things.

Prepping The Room

I love this rug!  As soon as it comes in I will post pictures of the preschool room.  Everything is coming together better than I hoped for.  I'm almost done making the calendar and weather boards.  My mother-in-law is helping me make an apron with tons of pockets to fill with activity and game ideas to go along with the lesson of the day.  I think the apron is going to be a hit with the kids!

My World!

I'm a mother of three beautiful young children who keep me busy and I love it.  I find I am most happy when I'm involved with my kids.  It always seems to surprise me when my kids get excited about the simplest things in life like a walk to the park or finding a caterpillar in our garden or blowing up a ton of balloons to bounce around all day or making an obstacle course out of yard toys/tools.  The point is that the time spent directly with my kids creates laughter, endless smiles, and lasting memories.  My talents always shine brightest around children. 

Starting My World of Learning Preschool is something I've wanted to do for a very long time but the timing was never right until now.  We moved here to Mesa from our beloved Prescott Valley about a year ago and it has taken a year to get settled and find a direction.  Now that it looks like we will stay in this home for a long while it seems the perfect time to get my preschool on the ball.  For me personally it's hard to open up and make new friends.  The preschool will definitely help me and my kids get to know better the people around us and make stronger friendships.  I'm really cool and fun once you get to know me. :)

I am super excited to teach little children.  Preschoolers are the best age.  I have a great outline for the year and some great things planned!
